+ more ANTI AGEING tips

7. EAT RIGHT

"Your skin receives nutrients not only from creams and treatments, but also from the food you eat.
"The more balanced your diet, the younger you'll look. And if you're not taking a multivitamin, start now."
To keep skin happy, eat more fatty fish (such as salmon), dark green vegetables (like broccoli and spinach), almonds, and walnuts. Drink lots of antioxidant green tea. And lay off the refined sugar and booze—both cause aging inflammatory reactions in the skin.

8. GET MOVING

"Exercise increases blood flow to the skin and promotes a glowing, healthy-looking complexion.
"Working out for just 30 minutes four or five days a week can make a huge difference."

9. TRY TO RELAX
The mind-body connection is a powerful one. "Do whatever you need to do to decompress."
"Stress causes cells to age faster, which absolutely shows on the skin."

10. DO NOT PICK

You got the same advice when you were a teenager. "Sun damage causes dark spots
as you age, but so does picking at your blemishes. "Since the skin takes a lot longer
to repair itself as you age, the spots won't disappear right away.

4. STAY HYDRATED

"The more hydrated your skin, the better your wrinkles will look.
"Drink lots of water, cut back on coffee and soda, and moisturise regularly.

5. SLEEP WELL

The expression "beauty rest" actually has some science behind it. "Not only does your skin
require downtime to repair itself, but sagging skin and puffiness around the eyes
make wrinkles look much worse.

6. MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT

 "Skin loses elasticity over time.
"The more your weight fluctuates, the harder it is to snap back into shape."

1. WEAR SUNSCREEN DAILY

Rain or shine, "liberally applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen that contains both UVA and UVB
protection every day is the single most important thing you can do to prevent sun damage and skin cancer,"

2. QUIT SMOKING

In addition to causing cancer and bad breath, smoking cigarettes "destroys collagen and
elastin and decreases levels of oestrogen, which is necessary to keep skin firm.

3. USE A RETINOID

It's the best way to slow down the clock with a cream. "Retinoids minimize the appearance
of existing age spots and fine lines and prevent new ones from forming.

REMEDY for dry skin

As I have dry skin I had to share this remedy I found on bellaMUMMA

When your skin is feeling tight and moisture-sapped, try this remedy to get a healthy radiance:

Rub a freshly cut lemon half over your complexion (the fruit’s natural acids remove flakes and smooth skin), then steam your skin over a pot of warm water. Next, slather your face and neck with an extra virgin organic coconut oil, a luxuriously dense emollient. It will make your skin glow like a Tahitian princess.

Beauty {EYES}

YOUR EYES ARE USUALLY THE FIRST FEATURE TO AGE...

Here's how to keep them looking young:
Good skin care - which includes using an eye cream both morning and night - can help reduce
wrinkles by up to 50 per cent.

Try eating foods that are high in antioxidants to help maintain the structure of the fine skin
around your eyes. Taking vitamin’s C and A (which helps your skin retain moisture) is helpful
too – as are the essential fats found in fish such as salmon and tuna.

Drink two litres of water daily to sort out your skin by rehydrating your body and flushing out fluid
retention which can show around the eyes.

Other tricks to try are: sleeping on three pillows to drain fluid from your face; and keeping some
spoons in the fridge then pressing the convex sides against your lids for a few minutes constricts
blood vessels and helps ease puffiness.

Beauty Tips for Flying

Fasten your seat belts ladies! I have spent a lot of time traveling in the last couple months which can really take a toll on your appearance.  So I thought I would share a couple of helpful beauty tips that I have picked up along the way.
  • Moisturise!  I can’t stress this one enough.  The recycled air in the plane can really dry out your pretty skin.  The night before you are headed to the airport be sure to use a good moisturizer and lots of it.  Also don’t forget to include both a travel sized face and lip moisturizer in your carry-on luggage to use during the flight.
  • It’s time to “takeoff”… your makeup!  If you are like me and dread the thought of strolling though the airport bare faced, then pack some makeup removing wipes in your bag.  Then, once you have boarded the plane, remove your makeup and apply a layer of moisturizer.
  • Avoid carbonation and salty foods.  I know this one is a challenge considering the first things to be served on a plane are salted nuts and soda, but stay strong ladies!  Instead opt for some herbal tea or good old H2O.  Also try packing your own snacks. Things like unsalted nuts or dried fruit make an excellent in-flight treat and won’t leave you puffy or bloated. It is also smart to avoid alcohol (sorry!) because it is more likely to make you dehydrated.
  • Some of you might experience swelling in your hands and feet while flying.  One way to avoid this is by wearing compression socks.  They aren’t the most fashionable items, but they keep your tootsies from swelling up during the flight.
  • Freshen up! Most perfume bottles exceed the limit of liquid ounces allowed through security and have to travel in our checked luggage, but no one wants to arrive at their final destination smelling like a 747.  Next time you fly pack a couple of perfume samples with you.  They work just as well and won’t be confiscated in security.
