This weekend marks the closing weekend of the Tulip Festival here in Ottawa. The festival dates back to the Fifties, with the yearly donation of tulips from the Netherlands to Canada as thanks for liberation from the Germans at the end of the Second World War. With the efforts of prominent public figures, particularly the esteemed landscape photographer Malak Karsh, the festival came into being, and each May, millions of tulips bloom across the national capital region. It also brings in a whole lot of tourists.
I've been busily photographing, though the shots contained here aren't mine. I'm still a dinosaur using film instead of digital. I'll have to remedy that post haste. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures...
